Teleglobal Privacy Policy

TeleGlobal Ltd ('TeleGlobal') is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner (Registration Number Z840641X) in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act).

TeleGlobal and all its agents, employees & representatives shall always operate within the law, complying with all legislative and regulatory requirements, and other external obligations.

Although legislation applicable to the local environment shall always apply, where there is no specific legislation or this is less stringent, the spirit of the UK law will be adopted and followed, assuming that it does not conflict with the local legislation.

This privacy policy describes the information we collect, why it is collected and how it is used. We take your privacy very seriously and information will be obtained, maintained, stored, used and passed on only in strict accordance with the Act.

1 Information we may collect

1.1 Personal Information

In order to provide you with the services you have requested and in order to comply with our requirements under FSA, Anti-Terrorist Financing and Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and as we deem appropriate to determine your eligibility for aspects of the service, Teleglobal collects or reserves the right to collect the following types of non-public personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive directly from you including but not limited to, your name, title, home or work address, telephone number(s) and date of birth. We may also request of you, in an offline format, proof of identity in order to satisfy certain legal requirements.
  • Information about your transactions with others, or us, such as Account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and code usage;

1.2 Personal Information Received from Third Parties

In order to protect you from potential fraud and to satisfy our regulatory obligations, we receive from third parties (e.g. Internet Merchants) such personal information that you provide to them, including, but not limited to, your name, title, home or work address, telephone number(s), date of birth and / or the IP address of the computer or device that you use to make a transaction.

1.3 Transaction Information

For each transaction you undertake with SNAP, we retain information on that date and time, the nature and value of the transaction, along with whom the transaction was undertaken.

1.4 Web Site Information

We collect information on which of our web pages you have visited, the time you visit and the length of time you spend on them, along with the type of browser you use. This information is collected solely in order to manage the load on our servers and to better understand our customer's preferences.

1.5 Session Cookies

We send a Session Cookie to your computer each time you log on to the SNAP website. This cookie allows our server to 'recognise' you allowing you to visit multiple pages on our site during the same session without having to continually re-enter your login details. Once you log out, the session cookie expires.

1.6 Support Correspondence

We maintain a record of any correspondence entered into between us in order to measure and improve our Customer Service and to investigate any potential fraud and violations of our User Agreement.

2 Usage of Information

We use the information that we collect about you for the following purposes:

  • To provide an audit trail of activity in order to:
    • Minimise fraud
    • Identify criminal activity
    • Satisfy other legal obligations placed on us
  • Verify identity
  • Improve our product, services and offering
  • Provide Customer Service

We give access to individually identifiable information only to those employees or affiliates that require the information in order to undertake their duties. No employees or affiliate is given access without first being trained in their responsibilities and obligations in the handling of such information and that have signed a confidentiality agreement.

3 Information we may disclose and to whom it may be disclosed

3.1 Disclosures Permitted by Law

TeleGlobal may disclose all of the non-public personal information described above, as permitted by law. For example, we may use affiliates or vendors of Teleglobal to perform services for us, such as providing customer assistance, processing your account and maintaining or developing software for us. We also may disclose information in response to requests from law enforcement agencies or banking regulators.

3.2 Disclosures for Joint Marketing and Servicing

Teleglobal may disclose all of the non-public personal information described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf.

3.3 Disclosures to Other Third Parties

We share information with companies that help us process transactions, for example, when a credit or debit card is used to purchase SNAP, the card details are forwarded to a third party service that screens the card against lost or stolen card files.

3.4 Disclosures to Non-Affiliated Third Parties

TeleGlobal will not sell, rent or openly disclose individually identifiable information to any non-affiliated Third Party without your express permission to do so.

4 Our Security Procedures

TeleGlobal restricts access to non-public personal information about you to those employees whom we determine have a legitimate business purpose to access such information in connection with the provision of products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with standards to guard non-public personal information about you.

5 Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify or supplement this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide current customers with, wherever possible, a revised notice that describes our new practices.
